In August, Direct Energy unveiled plans to purchase natural gas assets from Suncor Energy, the largest energy company in Canada. The asset will significantly increase our total gas production, meeting the needs of nearly 750,000 homes a day.

I wanted to give a bit of a plug to some intrepid would-be mountaineers from Centrica who are raising money for Camfed, which is dedicated to the eradication of poverty in Africa through the education of girls and the empowerment of women as leaders of change. Fittingly, the employees undertaking what has been described as a ‘tough but exhilarating' challenge are all women. Centrica summer placement scheme: finding the right internship

Applying for internships is like...buying a pair of shoes. Do you go to a shoe shop and try on as many pairs as you can in the short time you have or do you only pick one or two and take your time? Do you take your time and really see if the shoes fit or do you throw out a wide net and see what comes your way? I think the focus needed for good shoe buying is the approach that best applies to finding the right internships. My first day at Centrica on the summer placement scheme is one I'll never forget! I'd briefly studied HR in my Business Studies A-levels and little did I know all my misconceptions were about to be displaced. The Leap From Degree To The Workplace!

Coming into the workplace with no prior experience, what I got was certainly not what I expected. It turns out you can't just show the business a generic theory and try and squeeze its criteria into it, it just doesn't work.
